Today my review is on a shampoo from Patanjali. Patanjali has various shampoos but the one which I am reviewing now is Kesh Kanti Natural.
Before going ahead with the review, I would like to update you all regarding my hair as this is the first post I am posting about a hair care product.
I had a normal, long (knee length) hair during my school and college days. During graduation, we shifted to a different place and all of a sudden I had severe hair loss and thinning of hair. From then on, every month I have cut 1 inch of my hair and now my hair is just below my shoulder line. Also, before my marriage I had straightened my hair and after a year or so the straightening relaxed and my hair was looking like a mess (with wavy hair on my head and straight hair at the ends). So I chopped the straightened hair and was flaunting my waves for some time. During that time I had severe hair fall and that is when I tried this shampoo.
There was no much research involved in choosing this shampoo. I was just looking for an herbal product which helps in reducing hair fall and one of my cousin pointed out that Patanjali shampoos are worth trying. So just picked this one.
Company Claims: It helps in reducing breakage of hair, hair fall and helps in reducing dryness of hair.
Price: Rs. 75/- INR for 200 ml Bottle
Shelf Life: 2 years.
Availability: Easily available in all online stores, super markets and in all Patanjali outlets.
My Thoughts: I have used this product for almost 2 years now. The colour is light brown and it has a bit of herbal smell but not much bothering to the nose. It lathers up very well and cleans the hair in one wash if it is not oiled. If you have done heavy oiling, then 2 washes is required.
Now coming to the performance of this shampoo – it does what it claims. My hair fall has reduced to a larger extent and hair dryness also has reduced. It works well even if we do not oil the hair with Patanjali hair oil.
I am really impressed with the product as it majorly has herbal ingredients in it and it is quite cost effective.
How I Use: I usually oil my hair at night (using Patanjali kesh kanti hair oil) and next day morning I wash it using this shampoo. I take coin sized amount in my palm and dilute it with water of equal quantity and mix both and apply on my hair and massage in circular motion with the fingers. I take care that my finger nails doesn’t damage the hair roots/follicles.
Helps in reducing hair fall to a great extent.
Moisturizes the hair – no dryness after shampooing even if you do not use conditioner.
It is made in Bharat.
Please note : I do not have any hormonal or health issues and my hair fall was mainly because of usage of chemicals and heating and this shampoo has helped me in greater extent to overcome dryness and hair fall. But if you are facing severe hair fall for no known reason then kindly meet a doctor to find out the underlying reason for hair fall and then treat the cause.
Packaging could have been steadier – as the flip cap opens up during travel.
Will I repurchase again: Yes – planning to try other variants.
